Susan, I'd love to bring you up to date on lots of things, but prefer to use my email address separately, as opposed to being on view publicly. Quick summary: I retired in '97, moved to Stuart, Fl. in '01, designed and built my dream house in '02, at which time my son moved down here, eventually found his dream job and dream wife and we're expecting their first child in Sept. Much more to relate, but in separate email. Great hearing from you, kid.

I've always wondered about how Susan's life materialized after the difficult period she went through. As her English teacher, I saw her as a gifted, witty person whose potential had yet to be fully realized. She was the only student I knew of who emancipated herself, worked at a real job and still managed to do well in school. She had a rare kind of courage for her age and I sensed that it would do well for her in later years. Susan is among a small number of students whose talents and personalities remain fresh in my memory after thirty-five years of teaching. P.S. Good writing, Susan.
